Happy Birthday "Cake" shaped card

Happy Thursday Everyone,

Today, I would like to share a birthday card I made for my mother. Her birthday is this upcoming Monday. Inspiration for this card was taken from the September 2012 Cricut magazine. It is a birthday cake shaped card using Simply Charmed cricut cartridge and patterned paper from Me and My Big Ideas. I was very pleased with how it turned out.

I want to share a quick sympathy card I made today for my girlfriend whose grandmother just recently passed. They are traveling to California this weekend for the services. I am praying for traveling mercies for my good friend and her family.

"Be Mines" ~ Valentines Day Tee Shirt

Happy Valentines Day Everyone. I am a sucker for a holiday especially the ones that allow me to show off my creativity. My daughter asked me to buy her a tee-shirt to wear on Valentines day in traditional Valentines day colors. So as I browsed the stores I did not find anything suitable so guess what I decided to do? Yep you guessed correct, design her a shirt using my trusty cricut machine.

I picked up a white Hanes tee-shirt from the girls department in Wal-mart then proceeded to the fabric department to pick up something cute and festive for the occassion. They didn't have a huge selection but what they did have was perfect. If you have never worked with fabric and your cricut machine it is so easy to do. The results are amazing and guaranteed to WOW everyone.

Here is a mini tutorial of how to cut fabric using the cricut machine. First, purchase heat~n~bond in the red package and measure it to fit the piece of fabric you plan on cutting. Once you have measured it then follow the instructions on the packaging for ironing it onto the fabric. Basically, use the highest setting without steam and place the paper side up. Leave the iron on each section for about 6 seconds. Allow to cool before peeling off the backing. Next, place the fabric on your cutting mat and use the following settings on your machine, speed 3, pressure 4 and blade 4. The settings will vary depending on the weight of fabric you are cutting. Once you have cut your image then place it on the garment and just iron it on again without using any steam.

The results are nothing short of amazing if I must say so myself. On my project, I also used heat transfer vinyl. This too is extremely easy to use and very addicting.

The heart with wings came from the Hello Kitty greetings cartridge and the "Be Mines" came from Sesame Street and Friends cartridge.

"King Of Hearts" Valentines Card for Hubby

Good Evening Everyone,

I have been trying to post this card all day and believe it or not I am just now getting around to it, LOL. My days, evenings and nights are always filled with things to do. Anyway, with Valentines day literally being only days away I thought I had better get started doing some cards and crafts. Since I am a paper hoarder and did not feel like searching through my many, many, many stacks of paper (I have too much paper), I decided to use my imagine to create this card for my husband. It is pinterest inspired and I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Hope he likes it.

Monogram painting

Today I was in the mood to paint so I decided to search online for some inspiration. I found my inspiration on the corkscrews and canvas website. This was so much fun to create and very relaxing. I am by far no Picasso, but this is very relaxing and it's how I spend my time when I'm not playing with paper.

I am posting both pictures the inspiration piece and the one I painted. Mines is the one with the initial "s" for Sharondalyn. Since I'm not that crazy with my penmanship, I decided to use vinyl to cut my initial. Then I just used acrylic paint to put the dots on the letter. Easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and do t forget to enter I to my giveaway. You have until Tuesday evening to get your entries in. I will select the winner on Wednesday morning.

Good night everyone!

Zip Lining, Trolley Bus, Magic Mountain Layouts

Good Evening,

Tonight I wanted to share some layouts I have been working on over the past week. I am working really hard trying to finish up my layouts from our trip to Southern California last summer. Its funny how easy it is to get so far behind on your albums. Well anyway, here are at least 5 or 6 layouts that I have been working on. They are all going into my three ring binder by We R Memory Keepers. I started doing the albums made easy back in 2011 and I absolutely love this style of scrapbooking.

My daughter decided that she wanted to try Zip Lining and she had so much fun doing so. My son isn't as dare devil as my daughter and besides I think he had gotten cold on the beach that day.

This was such a fun page to create. It is actually done from a sketch from Becky Flecks "Page Maps" book.

On this page we were on the trolley that took us either to the theme park or the famous mall in Valencia, California. On the bottom picture the kids are enjoying the hot tub at the hotel.

On this layout we had just made it to Six Flags Magic Mountain. What a fun place!! They had so many roller coasters that both kids could go on and enjoy. The entertainment was great and the food was awesome! Can't wait to visit again soon!

What is a trip to the amusement park without meeting your favorite characters? I think I was more excited about meeting these guys than the kids were. The only thing missing was an autograph book. Definitely a reason to go back real soon.

My dare devils in action, lol! They rode the Goliath multiple times in a row, the Ninja and the Revolution. Hands up is the only way to ride, lol. At least my kids go by that rule. I wouldn't dare get on a roller coaster and not hold on for dear life!

Spinning rides are not my cup of tea but my kids can't get enough of them. Again, again is all my husband and I heard. Wonder woman actually tilted up in the air and spun around extremely fast, I got sick just staring at it in action. While Flash spun around on the ground. The kids rode until they couldn't stand any longer. LOL! They were extremely dizzy but still wanted to ride some more.

We truly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back on the west coast again soon. Do leave a kind word or two if you have enjoyed what you have seen and read. Thanks and have a wonderful weekend.

Materials

Here is a very vague list because I really don't remember all the materials used to create those layouts,

American Craft card stock, Soda Pop Paper stack by DeJa Vue, Ribbon, Twine, Various embellishments, vinyl

February Studio J specials and stamp of the month.

Good Morning Everyone,

I am still excited over my huge shopping haul yesterday at Michaels. If you haven't had a chance to check out there huge clearance sale there is still time. Anyway, I am posting pictures of this months close to my heart stamp of the month and studio J specials. Digital layouts are just $5 during the month of February. That is a savings of $1.95 per layout. Now is a great time to try out studio J if you have been considering going digital. Februarys stamp of the month is also a cutie. Its yours for just $5 with any $50 purchase. Also, the new spring/summer idea books are available online and I am currently taking orders. It is filled with tons of new stamps, papers and ideas.

Tomorrow I am attending a crop at Archivers with some good friends of mines so today I will be doing power layouts and getting my bag packed for tomorrow. Now that I have even more goodies to choose from I wonder how long this is going to take, LOL.

Have a great weekend everyone!
